Test Engineer

Job Description:

The Test Engineer is critical in Servatron’s contract manufacturing business. This engineer will contribute to Servatron’s success by developing new tests for a wide variety of customers in the wireless, medical, aerospace and power grid product industries. This engineer will also provide support for existing test hardware and software as well as provide electrical engineering support to manufacturing engineers and customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop manual and automated tests for low to high volume manufacturing of electronic systems and printed circuit assemblies
• Develop detailed test procedures and test related documentation or reports
• Provide daily production support of the manufacturing and test process
• Troubleshoot product to component level and provide failure analysis
• Provide assistance and training to technicians when needed
• Provide Design for Test (DFT) information to customers
• Provide test development project cost estimates

Education and Work Experience:
• BSEE or equivalent combined education and proven work experience
• 5+ years in an electronics manufacturing environment
• Proven track record of test development for complex electronic systems and printed circuit assemblies
• RF test development experience

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
• Experience with Microsoft .Net programming languages VB and C#
• Experience with NI LabVIEW or Agilent VEE graphical programming languages (mandatory)
• Working knowledge of basic electronics instrumentation; Spectrum and Network Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Multi-meters, etc.
• Schematic capture experience with OrCAD or equivalent
• Microsoft SQL / relational database design experience a plus
• Test fixture design; both mechanical and electrical
• Microsoft Office products

Desired Characteristics:
• Proven problem and analytical skills with excellent troubleshooting skills test systems and products
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Highly motivated with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment (multitask)
• Ability to work under minimal supervision with a high degree of self-initiative and the ability to think and act independently as well as work in a team environment
• Ability to plan, execute and deliver test development projects on time with little supervision
• Knowledge of defect data collection systems and reporting techniques
• Understanding of manufacturing concepts and practices
• Experience working in an ISO 9001 certified facility
